The campaign slogan, Dare to be More, is inspired by Dr. Buckley’s challenge to her students in 1993, to Dare to be True. Dare to be More is a jumping off point from the school’s 4-Fold Plan of Education expressed through the themes of Dare to be Brilliant, Creative, Strong and True.
We Dare to be More by raising funds through the Campaign for Buckley, a $37.5 million effort ($35 million for the CEP and $2.5 million for the endowment), to support the Campus Enhancement Plan and the growth of our endowment. The successful completion of the Campaign for Buckley will enhance educational excellence for decades, and expand the possibilities for what it means to be a student at The Buckley School.
To date more than $26 million has been raised for the CEP capital projects and $1.7 million for endowment.
The entire Board of Trustees at The Buckley School is committed to the success of the campaign and is leading the effort. Maurice Marciano led the campaign’s first phase with his inspiring leadership and visionary gift and continues to serve as Honorary Chair.

GROWING ENDOWMENT
We must work long term to build our endowment in order to provide The Buckley School with the financial stability and flexibility critical to success. The National Association of Independent Schools estimates that the median endowment of a co-educational day school such as Buckley is $20,000 per student. That would place our endowment target at about $16 million. In this first campaign, we begin to work towards this security with a $2.5 million dollar goal. Buckley is fortunate to have the leadership of Walter Baumhoff, former head of school, and Blaise Simqu, trustee and grandson of Dr. Isabelle Buckley, as Co-Chairs for the endowment portion of the Campaign.
