Dare to be Creative
We believe that the arts inspire students to test the limits of their imaginations and think creatively in all aspects of their lives. As such, artistic expression is an integral part of our students' academic success. Our award-winning and spirited arts program is designed to engage all Buckley students, as well as to challenge the most serious and gifted artists in our student body.
In the Lower School, classroom and art teachers collaborate to integrate art across the curriculum to broaden and improve students' learning. Through the Middle School arts rotation each student experiences a breadth of visual and performing arts. At all levels, students participate in musical performances, theatrical and dance productions, and visual arts exhibits. They also work with visiting artists who help to bring each art form to life and to show how they are applied in the everyday world.
As evidence of our dedication to the arts in education, The Buckley School was the first independent school honored with the prestigious BRAVO award from the Music Center of Los Angeles County, given for outstanding educational programs in visual and performing arts. We also are a recipient of the Kennedy Center Creative Ticket Award.
It is man’s way through the use of all arts to show how we behave to each other, to show our strengths and reveal our weaknesses, and in the final analysis-to affirm the dignity of mankind.”
