Above all, the goal of The Buckley School’s academic program is to foster a life-long love of learning in its students.

A passion for new ideas and intellectual growth is demonstrated at all levels throughout the campus. Students who reach beyond their requirements to take on additional academic challenges are the norm, not the exception. This stems directly from The Buckley School’s emphasis on a strong academic foundation and a prescribed curriculum, which embraces the intellectual curiosity of students while giving them the confidence to immerse themselves in scholarly pursuits.

The program ensures that every student will learn a core curriculum that our faculty considers crucial to a comprehensive liberal arts education. No student completes his or her education without having studied at least four years of a foreign language, ancient and modern world history, American history, world and American literature, biology, physics, chemistry and mathematics.

The necessity for a balanced program of study as a means of enriching the student's life cannot be stressed too much... The curriculum should begin with essential groundwork and progress to provide the highest standard possible for the individual student.”

Dr. Isabelle Buckley, Founder

Rigor and integrity characterize the program. Well-trained faculty with a passion for their disciplines provide the foundation for a safe, yet challenging environment to nurture the intellectual growth of their students.

The true measure of this success is fertile minds, lively imaginations and hearty appetites for learning that are so typical of Buckley students.

But the facts also tell an interesting tale. Buckley students excel in national math and science competitions. The debate teams win awards regularly. And Buckley graduates are accepted at the country’s most selective colleges and universities year after year.
