Transportation to Buckley

The Buckley School is respectful of its residential neighborhood, and as such, minimizes traffic by having all families participate in the bus program or in a carpool. The bus program is preferred and may be mandated by the city during the coming academic year.

Bus Program

The school subcontracts with Tumbleweed Transportation and services the following areas:

  • Pacific Palisades – Brentwood – Mountaingate – Mulholland
  • Beverly Hills
  • Deep Canyon – Mulholland Estates
  • Los Angeles – Coldwater Canyon – The Summit
  • Westwood – Beverly Glen
  • Hancock Park – Studio City
  • Westchester/Inglewood – Culver City
  • Woodland Hills – Tarzana – Encino – Sherman Oaks

Morning buses arrive at school by 7:50 a.m. Afternoon buses leave promptly at 3:30 p.m., and late buses for Middle and Upper School students leave promptly at 5:30 p.m. (2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Fridays).

Carpool Program

Lower School: Minimum, two students per vehicle.
Middle/Upper School: Minimum, three students per vehicle (can include Lower School student/s)

Morning Drop-Off Times:

Lower School students need to be in their classrooms by 8:15 a.m. The lower and upper elementary playgrounds are open and supervised from 7:45-8:10 a.m.

Middle and Upper School students need to be in their classrooms by 8:45 a.m., or for Sunrise classes, by 8:00 a.m. The Middle Upper School library is open before and after school for students who wish to study or read quietly.

Afternoon Pick-Up Times:

Lower School Carpool: Monday-Thursday, 2:45-3:00 p.m. (for 3 or more students), 3:00-3:15 p.m. (for 2 students); Fridays, one hour earlier.

Middle/Upper School Carpool: Monday-Thursday, 3:20-3:50 p.m.; Middle School pick-up on Fridays: 2:20-2:50 p.m.; Upper School pick-up on Fridays: 1:30-1:50 p.m.

Lower School students who participate in carpools with Middle and/or Upper School students will be supervised in classrooms after dismissal and at 3:15 p.m. (2:15 p.m. on Fridays) will be escorted to the Middle/Upper School pick-up area to join their carpools.
